The Careers & Employability Service offers a fantastic programme of career development workshops and employer presentations to help our students maximise their chances of career success. The workshop sessions are crammed with information and practical tips, whilst our employer presentations offer students the chance to network, find out about opportunities and what organisations look for in potential candidates.
Encourage your students to take part in the range of career development workshops and employer presentations taking place on campus next week:

Deadline for Perseonal Learning plans - Friday 16th March 2012.
If a student is unable, as a result of disability (as defined by the Disability Discrimination Acts 1995 and 2005), to be assessed by the normal methods required for the programme, the relevant Board of Examiners may approve a variation in the methods of examination/ assessment. In order to establish the grounds for and nature of any variation, disabled students (including those with a specific learning difficulty such as dyslexia) must provide relevant evidence (normally medical evidence or other appropriate professional confirmation, such as a report from a qualified educational psychologist) to the University's Learner Development Service. This will provide the basis for the development of a personal learning plan which may include modifications to examination/ assessment methods.
The process of establishing adjustments to support disabled students' learning can take some time. Students who have examinations/assessments in the summer term 2012 are strongly advised to present any evidence to the Learner Development Service and have a Personal Learning Plan in place by Friday 16th March 2012.
The Learner Development Service will continue to accept evidence and produce Personal Learning Plans after this date; however, this may result in Examination Officers not being able to organise and implement recommendations at such short notice.
For further information, or if you wish to discuss your circumstances in confidence, please contact the Learner Development Service on 0161 247 3491 or email learner.development@mmu.ac.uk
