Send us your most enterprising students!

Posted: Friday, 28th October 2011

AN APPEAL has gone out for staff to direct their students to a specially-funded Enterprise Academy.

The University is running its own tailor-made programme for budding entrepreneurs which has been devised by staff at the Business School.

The Enterprise Academy is programme of five interactive workshops, each focusing on an essential entrepreneurial ability and led by an expert from industry.

It has been created by our in-house ‘Enterprise Champions’ Dr Clare Schofield, Claire Giddens and Laura Rimmer who are based at the Centre for Enterprise at Aytoun.

Wednesday sessions

The inaugural programme welcomes all applications from MMU students particularly those nearing graduation. Attendees will become members of the Enterprise Academy and after full completion of the sessions and will receive a certificate.

Each of the five workshops will be delivered on a Wednesday afternoon from 1pm to 4pm and will run each month from November 2011 to March 2012

Places are limited to 50 and are funded by the ERDF as part of the NW HE Enterprise Champions Project.

Laura said: “Staff can contact me, if they want to know how their students can get involved, or ask them to sign up online."
