MMU is 'Open for Business' like never before – after hosting its first major business ‘Open Day’.
The Enterprise team hosted the well-known entrepreneurs group Business Network North for the first time in April, welcoming more that 110 companies to a two course lunch at the Pennine Restaurant and a seminar led by Lynn Martin, professor of entrepreneurship.
Lunch time speaker was Mark Ratcliffe, acting head of enterprise who introduced our visitors to the opportunities available to business working directly with the University.
Touching on short courses, accredited programmes, opportunities for consultancy and Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, Mark gave an overview of what the University can offer to a mix of small, medium and multinational firms based in the region.
Decision-makers
The Business Network North is a membership group which attracts senior decision-makers to monthly events around the region.
Mark said: “I am very encouraged to see such a diverse range of businesses coming into the University – many of them visiting us for the first time – and hearing about the variety of expertise we offer.
“MMU is really opening up for businesses and I hope to see many more events of this type.”
The event was organised by business development manager Deborah Walker and facilitated by the Catering Team.
